The Story

Monsters. Gods. A secret past. When ancient threats invade your world, you discover you're the descendant of a Greek god. To survive — and uncover the truth about your mother — you must embrace your divine power. But will you?

Through the lifespan of the app, we have always striven to make characters and locations that come alive for our players. The blending of the mythological and the real world provided an opportunity to create a cohesive look for all of the pantheon of Greek gods and their settings.

The gods of Olympus

The gods in Olympus Rising have to traverse both modern and historical realms and need the appropriate fits. Showing a variety of historical and modern looks below.

Can you guess who each god is? It was a fun design challenge to add hallmarks and symbols associated with each god to the designs while also maintaining diverse looks for the cast.

The Norse Gods

Introduced in Olympus Rising: Ragnarock, the Norse pantheon is composed of friends and enemies.

Loki was added to the cast in both Male and Female variants as a potential romantic fling for the player — the design proved so popular, a spin-off romance book for Loki is in development.

Key Art for the Love Interests

In Choices, we try to find ways to highlight the Love Interests and provide special art for the player’s enjoyment. These following are examples for this book. I collected reference for character likeness, pose and action, and thus provided direction for the image to be completed by another talented artist on the team.

Backgrounds for Olympus

The backgrounds were created to have a cohesive color look and feel across the fantastical imagining of Olympus. The addition of neon was in part homage to the creative lighting in John Wick, but also to make the settings more otherworldly than historical.

Backgrounds for The Norse Gods

The Norse backgrounds had to walk a line of feeling a bit more reserved than their Olympian counterparts — a bit more steeped in tradition. The more sparse additions of neon accents was to maintain continuity with the first book’s handling of “godly” backgrounds, but the color choices and overall mood made this place of the gods a place all its own.
